about us

JABDU

Jabdu Oromo American Women’s Council is a women-led political action committee harnessing the power of Oromos in Minnesota by promoting civic engagement, public service, advocacy, and voting education within our community. It is inspired by the institution of Siqee/Siinqee from the Gada system, the Oromo indigenous socio-political governing structure, where women have a sacred role in society to mobilize and be heard.

MISSION

The mission of JABDU aims to organize and promote the strength of the Oromo community politically, socially, and economically both in Minnesota and in East Africa.
