Hi, my name is ……………….……, and I am calling as a member of the Oromo Community in your constituent, zip code ……regarding H. RES. 445
I am concerned about the amended Draft Resolution H. RES. 445 which you are currently reintroducing.
As an Oromo American, I have a reasonable understanding of the route causes of political conflicts and violence in Ethiopia. My family and relatives still live there.
Your Draft Resolution failed to include the Ethiopian government’s atrocities, extra-judicial killings, and institutionalized attacks against Oromo civilians in the Oromia region.
You also failed to include the continued detention of over 50, 000 Oromo political Prisoners including political leaders such as Jawar Mohammed and Bekele Gerba
Draft Resolutions such as the one you are introducing will directly impact my family members and relatives who remain in Oromia, Ethiopia. It may play the role of enabling the government for further atrocities against civilians in Oromia and Tigray.
I would like you to reconsider your proposed legislation. I would also like to invite you to an informational session with Oromo Community in your district before you proceed with the legislation.
Thank you for listening to my concerns.
Have a wonderful day.
